I started practicing in 2013, with the aim of working to alleviate emotional difficulties and promote psychological health. How we assimilate and process information can be mind boggling, couple that with our history of the great British stiff upper lip, acknowledging that we need help with our mind as well as our body can be a huge step to take. If you had a broken arm, would you seek help? If you had an infection, would you see the doctor and maybe take antibiotics? Why then, would we not seek help when another part of us is hurting? The very fact you are reading this means you’ve already taken the first step on the road to recovery, even if it feels a long way off right now.
My core values are:
I am bound by my professional ethical rules which includes confidentiality, and client safety.
After 20+ years of experiencing various roles in a large corporate organisation, I commenced counsellor training on a part time basis in 2009 and qualified in 2013.
I have worked with various charities supporting individuals with a range of different issues. I have worked for Coping with Cancer, Sure Start, a domestic/sexual violence counselling service and an online charity that provides short and long term counselling to adults with a wide range of concerns.
I have obtained Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (QCF) and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
